What Was the Brief?
Weymouth Harbour required a secure, self-service fuelling solution that allowed boat owners to pay independently at the quayside. The system needed to operate reliably in a harsh, exposed marine environment, minimise staff involvement, and maintain high uptime during peak activity.
The brief was to install a Unicode Outdoor Payment Terminal (OPT) in conjunction with a Pumptronics C-Series twin dispenser, supplied via two Franklin variable-speed submersible pumps. The system needed to provide real-time fuel-level visibility, accurate transaction reporting, and seamless integration with harbour operations. Multiple payment methods, operational resilience, and dependable performance in challenging weather conditions were essential requirements.
