Project: Relocation of Refuelling Site
Client: Borough Council
Location: County Durham, UK
When the council needed to relocate to better facilities, they turned to Octane to ensure a safe and reliable end-to-end solution.
Octane were already providing service and maintenance for the council's refuelling operations so they were the natural choice to provide specialist advice and proposals for a new bunded fuel tank and fuel island facility at a pre-chosen location.
Octane supplied a split compartment 36,000ltr / 9,000ltr Fully Bunded above ground storage tank.
As the new location had no services and no adequate drainage to support such an installation, Octane cleared the car park area and began by installing a 10,000ltr forecourt interceptor and all drainage connection.
A dual containment pipework refuelling facility was installed a with raised pump island (to accommodate 3 existing pumps) complete with alarm system and new electrics.
Octane's new fuel management to interface was also installed to that electronic gauges can 'talk' directly to the MCS Fuel management system, allowing Council officers to see the stock online any time and from any location that has an Internet connection.
The new online "Real Time" fuel management system means that the man-hours required to reconcile fuel stocks and fleet control reports have dropped significantly, saving time and money.
We continue to carry out all repair and maintenance work for this council facility.
