Project: Fuel System Installation
Client: UK's Leading Food & Drink Wholesaler
Location: Hatfield, UK
This major turnkey solution involved not only the comprehensive refurbishment of internal tanks but also the installation of replacement lines, Aco drainage, new concrete tank pads and as well as the relocation of bunker tanks and pumps.
New lines, stainless steel isolation valves and leak detection systems were installed alongside relocated Bunker tanks which were emptied, cleaned, reconditioned and lifted onto a new bespoke re-enforced concrete tank-pad and crash protection posts.
The internal tanks were thoroughly de-gassed, cleaned and "de-sludged" using a vacuum tanker and a confined space team with all waste disposed of at a licensed facility.
A temporary 76,000ltr hire tank and pumps were installed to dispense fuel to wagons and minimise disruption during the works.
CAT scans were undertaken prior to all work, with excavation of the site and waste removal conducted under all health and safety legislation (including removal and storage of existing block paving so that it could be reused in the final construction).
The whole location was tested and certified as part of the commissioning process.
